CAMP KICKIN' IT - FOR AGES 12-18

Overview

A social camp for transgender, gender nonbinary, genderqueer teens to participate in identity exploration and Bay Area activities in community with their peers.

Come together in community to explore the Bay Area and dive into the social and emotional issues around gender identity and expression. Teens have their own schedules with some overlap with younger campers from Rainbow Day Camp. We alternate days on campus and "on the go." On campus we do spoken word, art, tie dye projects as well as watching films and generally kickin it. Teens explore both the cities of San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland and San Jose as well as themselves internally in an affirming and engaging camp environment. Past excursions have included the Oakland A's, Lake Merritt, Thrift clothes shopping, the Castro, and various LGBTQ locales.
